AB Various sampling devices for the liquefied sterilizing gas mixture of 12 wt % ethylene oxide, 88 wt % dichlorodifluoromethane (“12-88’) were designed and tested. Devices were evaluated on integrity of mixture concentration, ease of operation, and adaptability to common analytical equipment. The optimum design was further evaluated over a range of ethylene oxide concentrations to ascertain performance in regions other than 12 wt %. A gas chromatography analytical technique was employed.
