YR 1981 UL http://journal.pda.org/content/35/1/36.abstract AB We distinguish between the bubble point values inherent in the porous qualities of a filter, and those perceived by different observers. The perceived bubble point may also be influenced by the extent of filter area, although this effect may be masked by the test procedure. The normal experimental bubble point variation of some ±10% requires careful definition in terms of the all-important relationship between bubble point values and organism retention. We suggest that in high challenge conditions based upon filter retention, it would be advantageous to define the advent of the bubble point more precisely by careful measurement of air pressure and airflow rate.
