AB The diffusion of methylparaben through silicone rubber membranes was followed with and without ultrasound. Ultrasound sources (5 MHz and 2.25 MHz) were used to irradiate the membranes normal to the membranes and in the same direction as diffusion flow. The data presented shows no apparent effect of ultrasound on silicone membrane permeability.
