AB  - A process is described where an ultra-violet photochemical reactor is used as an agent for sterilization of eye drops. The apparatus was calibrated by a static method, then by a continuous flow method. The exposure necessary for sterilization was calculated for Purified Water B.P. then for eye-drops of various types. The feasibility of the method for practical use was investigated together with a method of testing more sensitive than the Test for Sterility of the British Pharmacopeia. Attempts were made to discover the effects of sterilization procedure on the assay of the product.
