These studies utilized HPLC with electrochemical detection to monitor the drug’s stability and diastereomeric ratio upon storage and delivery in potentially adsorptive infusion materials and devices. Results of these studies indicate no adsorptive losses, incompatibility, or changes in diastereomer ratio occur after dilution of the drug in PVC-based infusion systems. The utility of partitioning studies as a predictive tool for adsorptive losses of drug to plastic infusion containers is discussed.
