C YR 1988 UL http://journal.pda.org/content/42/2/68.abstract AB The chemical and physical stability of a novel calcium entry blocker RS-93007,3-[4-cyano-4-(3,4-di-methoxyphenyl)-5-methylhex-l-yl]-I,2,3,4-tetrahydro-6,7-dimethoxy-2-methyl-isoquinoline hydrochloride was evaluated in dextrose and saline admixture preparations. These studies utilized HPLC with electrochemical detection to monitor the drug’s stability and diastereomeric ratio upon storage and delivery in potentially adsorptive infusion materials and devices. Results of these studies indicate no adsorptive losses, incompatibility, or changes in diastereomer ratio occur after dilution of the drug in PVC-based infusion systems. The utility of partitioning studies as a predictive tool for adsorptive losses of drug to plastic infusion containers is discussed.
