The data has been fitted to a log-linear relationship. The heat of solution is determined using the van’t Hoff equation and was found to be nearly constant at 1.2 Kcal/mole. There appears to be no dependency of the slope of the log Sm vs. fraction cosolvent plot upon temperature. DSC data indicate that there is an eutectic freezing point for oxacillin solutions between –12 and–13°C. The above data suggest that premixed intravenous solutions of oxacillin will be considerably more stable when stored below, rather than above, the eutectic point.
