AB  - Aseptic processing of an ophthalmic ointment or suspension to render a sterile product is demanding. Many steps are involved in which microbial contamination can occur compromising the sterility of the finished product. This paper describes methods for producing sterile ointments and suspensions including a plan by which pertinent validations can be carried out.
