Assessment of Duration of Activity Hazard

HazardSub-FactorsDescription and ReasonWeighting/Score
Duration of activity severity and probabilityNonprocessingFor nonprocess rooms, no activity within the room has any measurable impact upon the process. Therefore, no weighting is afforded.0
Short durationShort duration refers to the process step in the room lasting for less than 30 min. As a relatively short time frame, a relatively low weighting (with respect to the medium and long durations) is afforded.1
Medium durationMedium duration refers to the process step in the room lasting for more than 30 min but for less than 2 h. As a relatively longer time frame than a short duration but a relatively shorter time frame than a long duration, the middle weighting (with respect to the short and long durations) is afforded.2
Long durationLong duration refers to the process step in the room lasting for longer than 2 h. As the largest time frame, a relatively high weighting (with respect to the short and medium durations) is afforded.3
