Abstract
The solubilization of zomepirac, a non-narcotic analgesic, by tromethamine and related bases is described. Solubilization is affected by a micellar mechanism as demonstrated by the surface tension reduction of tromethamine solutions by zomepirac, the solubilization of benzyl alcohol in tromethamine solution by zomepirac and the formation of the characteristic osmotic pressure/concentration relationship for association colloids by equimolar zomepirac:tromethamine solutions.
